Negotiations update:
District proposes switch from biweekly to monthly paychecks

AFT and the District are negotiating over a proposal to switch to from biweekly to monthly pay effective July 1, 2011. Below are links to a Q&A explaining the proposed change, and assessing the impact on full-time and part-time faculty. It provides information on pay dates (beginning this July 1 for full-timers and Sept. 1 for part-timers), improved STRS reporting, and cost savings to the District. Please read over the information. The AFT 2121 Delegate Assembly will take the matter up at its Tuesday, May 24th meeting, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in Arts 302 at Ocean campus. All AFT members are welcome. We also encourage you to raise your questions or concerns about the proposal to your precinct rep, email aft@aft2121.org, or call the Union office at (415) 585-2121.
