National teach-in on debt, austerity, and how to fight back
On Tuesday, all students, staff, and faculty are invited to join the national teach-in on austerity, debt, corporate greed -- "and what YOU can do about it." The event, hosted by Frances Fox Piven and Cornel West, will be streamed live across the country from New York-- to campuses, community groups, offices, and homes.
"Corporate America’s unprovoked assault on working people has been carried out by manufacturing a need for fiscal austerity. We are told that there is no more money for essential human services, for the care of children, or better public schools, or to help lower the cost of a college education. The fact is that big banks and large corporations are hoarding trillions in cash and using tax loopholes to bankrupt our communities."
Join us Tuesday 4/5 at the Ocean Campus in the Student Union (upper floor), 11:00 am — 12:30 pm, to be a part of the teach-in and watch the live feed from New York City. Please let students know: everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. Read more at fightbackteachin.org
