• KNI provides essential care for 156 residents with profound disabilities and the closing of KNI will disrupt their treatment and place them among strangers.
• KNI has a massive waiting list of nearly 3,000 people and nine individuals with disabilities have died during the wait. 
• KNI generates vital economic development dollars for local communities as well as the entire state of Kansas. The total economic impact of KNI in FY 2010 was $66 million and the spending of its workers support more than 1300 jobs in the area.
