CTU in the Gay Pride Parade

Chicago Teachers Union GLBT Committee Let's Show Our

CTU

PRIDE!

Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis invites you to wear red as you join her, our union officers, and scores of members in CTU’s contingent at the 43rd Annual Chicago Pride Parade this Sunday, June 24.  Our respect for our LGBTQ educators and allies is reflected in the parade theme “Pride Links Us Together” which this year will see over a dozen youth, student, and public school groups joining the parade.

CTU’s contingent is #24 in a parade of 200 entrants.  Our participants will meet at 11am on the corner of Montrose Avenue and Clifton Street (1136W), five blocks east of Clark Street.  Nearby CTA Rapid Transit Stations are at Wilson and Sheridan. The parade kicks-off at 12 noon, heads south on Broadway, and ends up in the park at Diversey and Sheridan Rd. at 2:30pm

We invite all Chicago Public School teachers, students, staff, parents and other LGBT and education allies to march with us in the north side parade.

Scroll down to register. We will use the contact information you provide to send you any last-minute details.
