The stakes of this election for retirees and seniors couldn't be clearer. There are very stark contrasts between President Obama and Mitt Romney.

President Obama wants to secure a future for working Americans by strengthening Social Security and Medicare. He has vowed to fight Romney-supported plans to turn Medicare into a voucher system that would hurt the children, disabled and older people who receive healthcare through Medicare.

“I will never allow Medicare to be turned into a voucher that would end the program as we know it. We’re not going to go back to the days when our citizens spent their golden years at the mercy of private insurance companies.” - President Barack Obama

Conversely, Mitt Romney supports a Republican budget plan that would bring radical changes to Medicare and Social Security. The Republican plan protects tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, takes away the benefits workers have earned, and shifts costs to current and future retirees.
